the Gather Together quilt pattern is finally here! i designed this pattern, inspired by starlings gathering in murmuration in the skies of maine, a couple of years ago now. it just never seem to be the right time to bring it to life. however, this spring a commission came in that requested a beautiful ombre of blues and greens and i knew this would be the perfect design to showcase the colors.
shortly thereafter the pandemic hit and as i plugged away on the commissioned quilt, i spent time a great deal of thinking about how we were living in a time where we couldn't actually gather but needed to gather together to get through the pandemic and begin the work to break down systems of racial inequality in our country. hence, i named the quilt Gather Together and to me, it will forever represent learning how to come together to support one another and create a more equitable and safe world for all. furthermore, a portion of annual sales of this pattern will be donated to The Loveland Foundation, which provides free therapy to communities of color, with a particular focus on black women and girls, providing access to healing.
i made 3 versions of this quilt and it is super fun to construct and surprisingly fast to put together! check out my versions below (and keep scrolling for some AMAZING tester versions!) and grab your PDF pattern here or you paper copy here. pre-order a b&w kit here, or head to fabric bubb to grab an ocean kit here or a sunset kit here!
