hello, friends! what a wild time we find ourselves in right now. first and foremost i hope everyone is staying well out there. when we got word that our little shop would need to temporarily close its brick & mortar shop due to covid-19, i decided to spend the time to write up these mini quilt patterns i had been meaning to publish for quite a while. these patterns originated from the hazel village collaboration we did last december, where we made 26 unique doll quilts full of fun mini designs!
solar rise, rainbow days and stars at night in hazel village linen remnants
these quilts are inspired by the sun peeking over the horizon, the double rainbow summer days and the first stars that come out at night in our great state of maine! the double days trio name originated from a double rainbow i saw this winter while skiing with our kids, but it quickly came to symbolize the double days we are all pulling right now as we juggle staying home with work, family and supporting ourselves in this time.
mini quilt patterns are a great way to play with color, texture and new skills as they are quick and require a small amount of fabric, often what you have on hand. i decided they would be great projects to release at a time where most of us are finding ourselves at home with more time (but maybe still not lots of time, due to mixed obligations) but perhaps not as much motivation due to the stress of living through a pandemic. so, here's hoping they bring you a quick and easy little bit of joy! and, to make it even easier, we have kits available here.
what i did not expect was that there would be a sudden demand on my time in numerous other ways from sudden home schooling obligations, to having to lay off my employees to keep the shop afloat to navigating the complicated ins and outs of the small business relief programs. long story short, this release is not full of the usual bells and whistles of professional photo shoots, multiple quilt versions and marketing plans, however, i couldn't be more proud of these mini patterns. we're releasing not one but THREE patterns and had an INCREDIBLE group of testers that really helped me fine tune each pattern to be clear, concise and ready for release. i could not have done it without them and i could not be more grateful, for them, for you all and for the support. see their beautiful work below.
stay well, friends
